Capturing video to your PC without a Computer??

Yep! Its possible with the Pinnacle Video Transfer

[Video] Pinnacle Studio Chromakey Tips from Paul Holtz

Creating clips/scenes & Auto Scene Detection

Upon successfully importing your source video into Pinnacle Studio you will then need to break the single video down into smaller more manageable parts called clips or scenes. These smaller clips will eventually be fine tuned and put together in to a sequence or composition with transitions holding them all together.

  • Your recently imported file/video in most cases will appear as a single large video file.

Pinnacle studio boasts of one feature that not even some professional industry standard editing applications offer. The option to create clips/scenes by number of seconds is fantastic! The user also has the option to 'detect scenes by video content' which just simplifies and streamlines the entire process.

On Pinnacle Studio with the right system configuration scene detection - a.k.a. - clip creation takes a matter of seconds!

  • Right click on your video and select either the 'Subdivide Scenes' option or the 'Detect Scenes by Video Content' option. I rely solely on the 'Subdivide Scenes' option because I know ahead of time which scenes I will be using in my new production and the 'detect scenes by content' option can be time consuming if you are dealing with a large video file.

Importing video into Pinnacle Studio

The entire process is as simple as 3 clicks if your video is stored on a local hard drive or an external hard drive - Importing media from an external device such as a memory stick or CD will be covered on a different tutorial.

  • Ensure you are in the correct context before importing by clicking the 'Show Videos' Icon.

  • Click on the Folder Icon (Select video files from a different folder)

  • Navigate to the location where your source video file is saved and select it to import.

  • That's it you're done! The imported video will now be visible in your workspace.
